Update: Parkside Diner Closed by Health Department

Thanks to a commenter for pointing out the gross reason why Parkside Diner, on Flatbush near Sterling, has been closed since last week: It's been shuttered by the DOH.

Here are the details (you've been warned!):

Violation points: 57

Sanitary Violations
1) Cold food item held above 41º F (smoked fish and reduced oxygen packaged foods above 38 ºF) except during necessary preparation.
2) Food Protection Certificate not held by supervisor of food operations.
3) Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or non-food areas.
4) Live roaches present in facility's food and/or non-food areas.
5) Filth flies or food/refuse/sewage-associated (FRSA) flies present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas. Filth flies include house flies, little house flies, blow flies, bottle flies and flesh flies. Food/refuse/sewage-associated flies include fruit flies, drain flies and Phorid flies.
6) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
7) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.
8) Pesticide use not in accordance with label or applicable laws. Prohibited chemical used/stored. Open bait station used.

Guess I won't be ordering delivery from them ever again!

That's really disgusting.
I guess I should be thanking my lucky stars I've never gotten sick when I've ordered delivery which, like Mr. Wonton, I will never do again.
