Second Glow Accessories Gets Signage on Fifth

Glow Accessoaies opened just last month on Seventh Avenue between Berkeley and Lincoln, selling quality, inexpensive jewelry, scarves, and the like, and now signage has been installed a couple blocks downhill, in the second outpost, coming to 219 Fifth Avenue, between President and Union.

According to owner Jisoo Sun, this Glow will cater to mostly a younger audience, and it will be a "more modern, funkier and smaller (300sq) version of Glow."

I really, really wanted to like Glow. I was excited for a place like this in the neighborhood. While I wear plenty of real jewelry and gems, i also have a nice selection of costume jewelry also. but, nice looking costume jewelry. I was at Glow on Saturday and could not find a thing I liked, IMO, it was all on the "cheap" looking side. yes, the store was very nicely laid out, but, honestly, this is the first time i have ever walked out of a place like this without buying something. And, i buy costume jewelry at Century 21, macy's and other specialty costume jewelry stores. I will never be back to this one.

I agree that the jewelry looks cheap. The place is so nice looking though that it would be easy if the owner would start stocking some nicer pieces. I don't think most Park Slopers are looking for junk, they want nice, stylish pieces whether they are real or not.

For example, St. Kilda on 5th Avenue has gorgeous merchandise and they do very well and have heard they even have a small celebrity following. The owner of GLOW should go down and check them out and see what kinds of things Park Slope women like.

I heard the owners of Park Slope were planning to bring in new merchandise from Korea...seems they're also focused on the issue of quality accessories as well.
