El Viejo Yayo Gets an Upgrade

El Viejo Yayo, the sprawling Latin restaurant on Fifth Avenue between Bergen and Dean, just got a little less viejo.
Among the changes they've made within the past month is new exterior signage, complete with a new name. It hasn't been officially changed, though, according to manager Robert Garcia. "We decided to go with Yayo's Latin Cuisine for the sign because it's easier for people to remember, and most of our customers call it Yayo's anyway," he said. "But on the menus it's still El Viejo Yayo. That was the name the original owner [nicknamed Yayo] gave it, and we wanted to respect that."
Aside from the exterior changes, the interior has been fixed up as well. The carpet has been replaced with wood, more brick has been exposed, the bar area got a makeover, and the three bathrooms have been outfitted with automatic appliances.

I have never eaten at this place but you know it has to be good...it's always packed with latinos, who I assume know what good latin food is.
