Fashion East, the women's clothing boutique on Lincoln between 7th and 8th, closed for good recently.
The owners, Alexander (from the former Yugoslavia) and Jessica (who has a Chinese and Cambodian background) named the store after their shared Eastern heritage. The store carried styles hand-picked by the owners and their buyers, and they also sold handbags, accessories, and the like. Alex could usually be found playing guitar in the store when business was slow, and also gave lessons.
Even though their prices were lower than many of the boutiques on Fifth, the awkward, off the beaten path location did it no favors. Hopefully they'll be able to find a new place to set up shop.
