Closed for Business: Fashion East, 176 Lincoln Place
Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 1:17PM Fashion East, the women's clothing boutique on Lincoln between 7th and 8th, closed for good recently.
The owners, Alexander (from the former Yugoslavia) and Jessica (who has a Chinese and Cambodian background) named the store after their shared Eastern heritage. The store carried styles hand-picked by the owners and their buyers, and they also sold handbags, accessories, and the like. Alex could usually be found playing guitar in the store when business was slow, and also gave lessons.

It's nice that you are so positive about everything, but this store wasn't good. It had about 5 pieces of merchandise and was absolutely not in the style of the way most people in Park Slope dress. It seemed as though the owners had literally never walked around the neighborhood before. They were friendly, but that isn't the entire equation for a successful business. I highly doubt they will show up in another part of the neighborhood given the extremely low rent of these storefronts on Lincoln Place.
I thought that this shop was great and I bought many cute outfits from them without ever feeling that I spent too much. It's sad to see one of the only stores on the 7th ave that is NOT a toy store or bagel shop or overpriced old lady's clothing store, has closed down. Also, one could often hear virtuoso guitar playing streaming out of the shop. I hope they open a new location soon.
