Closed for Business: Mango/Remixed Thai Brasserie

When a restaurant re-brands four times in the space of one year, that's a good sign that it's on the way out. Mango Remixed Thai Brasserie, which up until recently was simply known as Mango Thai, has closed. The gate is down, and employees at Amin, the Indian restaurant next door, confirmed that yesterday was their last day in business.

The restaurant, at 52 Seventh Avenue (between Lincoln and St. Johns), never stood out in a neighborhood full of middling Thai restaurants, and several months ago the owners renamed the restaurant Remixed, to reflect a more Fusion-oriented menu. When that didn't pan out, they added Mango back into the name and changed the menu again. After a couple more menu changes (including a shift to BYOB), it appears as if the final nail in the coffin was the construction last month of scaffolding.

This closure clears the way for Spice to be the only Thai restaurant on northern Seventh Avenue, if they ever get their act together.

Mango isn't closed. You need to update this post.
