Chiles & Chocolate Expanding to Manhattan
Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 9:14AM
Chiles and Chocolate, the Oaxacan restaurant on Seventh Avenue best known for its mole, will be opening up a second location, on Eighth Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets in Chelsea, according to Zagat.
The restaurant, located between Union and Berkeley, switched spaces with the much larger Amin Indian Restaurant back in June, and has one of the more unique menus in the neighborhood. Its spicy, chocolatey mole and creative brunch have gained quite a following, and it also has the unique claim of being the only restaurant nearby with grasshoppers on the menu.
Along with Beer Table and Toby's Public House, this will be the third instance of a Park Slope establishment setting up shop in Manhattan within the past year.

This restaurant should get more attention because it is quite good.
So interesting to see all of these Park Slope originals opening up 2nd locations in Manhattan. Speaks well for our businesses!
Mom and pops seem alive and well in the Slope.
