UPDATE: Thanks to a tipster for letting me know that the for sale sign has returned, most likely for good. Photo at bottom.
It's been nearly two months since we last checked in with Pete's Pizzeria, the offshoot of Pete's Downtown that closed "for renovations" back then and promised to re-open in January after some upgrades.
Well January is nearly over and I haven't seen any work going on in there, and yesterday I received this tip:
"Don't know if you (or anybody else cares) but yesterday there was a for sale sign in the window of Pete's, on 5th between 1st and 2nd, replacing the "coming soon" sign..today there was no sign in the window at all, so who knows?"
Looks like the Neapolitan-style pizzeria is in fact closed for good. Why do owners insist they're renovating when more often then not they're actually done for good?
