98 Fifth Avenue Renovation Complete
Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:39AM
I've been keeping tabs on the renovation of 98 Fifth Avenue (between Warren and Baltic), home to the Park Slope Christian Tabernacle, since construction began back in June, so it's worth noting that construction appears to be complete, at least on the exterior.
The final product is rather inoffensive; even the roof addition doesn't look so bad in context with the rest of the building.

It sort of looks like the facade of a Holiday Inn, but that's a lot better/cleaner than its neighbor in blue.
I disagree that it is inoffensive. I'm offended. It looks like they screwed up and put the back of the building in the front. Comparing it to a Holiday Inn is very generous.
BEN K: I said a "HO-TEL, Mo-tel, Holiday iiiiinnn....
Now if they could do something about its Blue neighbor and make look like a Denny's or Hampton Inns, then we'll be cookin with gas!!
Is it a church?
At least it's not like that god awful one down on 7th near flatbush that has the really poor taste JESUS el-chepo plastic hanging sign outside of an otherwise nice looking church.
Looks bad, but it still might be the nicest building on that block.
Speaking of the blue building next door, I'd love to know what happens in that "bodega" with the photo of the pope in the window that literally sells nothing, except possibly lotto tickets.
A great improvement, more modern than the old building.
I've always wondered what goes on in the blue "store" which looks like a hot mess everytime I pass by it. I work on this block and see guys leaving the store with big TVs. Something fishy is going on there.
