The Soup Bowl Returning for the Winter
Monday, October 15, 2012 at 3:02PM
Soup fans, rejoyce: The Soup Bowl of Park Slope, chef Richard Gussoff's wildly creative and delicious pop-up soup stand that's set up temporary shop in the neighborhood for the past two winters, will be coming back this year to the space that's home to Uncle Louie G's, on Seventh Avenue between Eighth and Ninth Streets.
The butternut squash lobster bisque, Long Island clam chowder, roasted shallot potato, and all the favorites will be back for another winter, and according to the chef this year the daily-rotating menu of soups will be joined by a selection of salads and sandwiches.
Whereas last winter the shop expanded into a second location, on Park Place just off Flatbush, this year Gussoff will maintain his focus on the Seventh Avenue location while "consulting" the owners of the Uncle Louie G's on Park, who plan on opening a soup shop of their own in the space.
He plans on opening on November 1, and it'll stick around until the beginning of March.
