Open for Business: Liberty Travel, 162 Seventh Avenue

A branch of Liberty Travel opened up over the weekend in the long-vacant storefront formerly occupied by the Chair-Man, next door to the Starbucks on Seventh between First and Garfield.

There's certainly no way to miss it from the outside, and the interior looks about as you'd expect, with about 10 windows where folks can sit down with a travel agent and plan their next voyage. A travel agency opening seems almost quaint, but it's somewhat nice to know that there's still a market for one-on-one travel planning, I suppose.

I still don't understand how travel agencies are even in business, no less opening new store fronts.
