Chef Falkner: Come to Park Slope!
Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 12:14PM
News broke a couple days ago that beloved San Francisco chef Elizabeth Falkner, best known around these parts for being the dark horse on season 1 of Top Chef Masters and the most recent season of The Next Iron Chef, is headed to Brooklyn, and is currently deciding on whether to open a new restaurant in Boerum/Cobble Hill or Park Slope.
Chef, decide on Park Slope!
The neighborhood is currently a magnet for big-name chefs like Marco Canora and Dale Talde, and with good reason. It's bustling, the folks who live here are generally well-heeled foodies passionate about seeking out amazing food, and when we find a restaurant we like we tell anyone who'll listen.
Yes, there will be competition anywhere you go, but the pizza and cocktails concept will never get outdated. Along with Darren Crawford (of Bourbon & Branch) and Nancy Puglisi (of Tony's Pizza Napoletana), you've got a winning combination, especially when paired with your crazily creative food and desserts.
I'm sure you'll be wildly successful wherever you land, but know that you've got a home in Park Slope (and plenty of prime real estate on our main avenues).

That is a talented bunch. Would definitely be great if they opened up in Park Slope. It would kill it in the old Sette spot with that outdoor seating there.

Falkner's a tricky one, as she comes off great on TV, but Citizen Cake was kind of a lazy place. Would I still want the Slope to call her their own now? Hell yes.
