Breaking: Zito's Sandwich Shoppe CONFIRMED for Coney Island

It was first hinted at a few days ago on Twitter, but I just got confirmation from Zito's Sandwich Shoppe owner Marcello Bucca that they've signed a three year lease to open a 140 square foot sandwich stand on Coney Island, on Jones Walk right near Luna Park. It'll be open in time for Memorial Day Weekend, and will stay open through the summer, until Labor Day.
"We're thrilled to be a part of Coney Island and all that it stands for," said Bucca. "It's Brooklyn at its best."
The 8'x17' concession stand will look like a miniature version of their extremely popular Italian sandwich shop, which opened last summer on Seventh Avenue between Seventh and Eighth Streets. The menu will be "streamlined," according to Bucca.
"We'll be serving our chicken parm, our meatball parm, a cold cut sandwich, our arancini, fried ravioli, and one special sandwich that's exclusive to Coney," he said.
"We're really, really excited about this," added Bucca. "We're just happy to be a part of it."

They're class guys. Congratulations. Envision a chain of Zito's throughout Bklyn...and beyond. This has been one of the best additions to the neighborhood in recent years, bar none. There's no pretense here: just good food and nice guys.
agreed, samwich! Awesome news. congratulations Marcello and Enzo!
Just goes to show that the Boardwalk doesnt have to settle for garbage.
This is awesome news!!!! Bring some real quality to Coney Island. The Park Slope location is already amazing. Zito's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
man I love zito's, but $11 bucks for a sandwich on a boardwalk is a lot. sometimes i wish they had smaller portions for less $$.
Enzo, Marcello, and the rest of the Zito's staff are all excellent, friendly guys serving great food. Most of their sandwiches are actually less than $10, and are easily split between two people! Throw in a side and a couple of beers, and you're set.
We pass a bunch of other delis and sandwicheries on our long walks to Zito's and are never swayed from our ultimate destination.
