Some New Signage on Seventh

Two of Seventh Avenue's long-running businesses – Community Bookstore and Rice Thai Kitchen - recently underwent some cosmetic changes and have spiffed up their look.

The Community Bookstore, the neighborhood's last independent bookseller, in business since 1971, recently replaced their old sign with this new one. Featuring a logo by A.C. Harkness, the classy new design is also featured on a just-released line of t-shirts, tote bags, bookmarks, and the like. It's a little hard to make out above, so here's a better version:

Further down the avenue, between 8th and 9th, Rice Thai Kitchen also got some new signage and a slight makeover. They closed down briefly last month to modernize and reorganize the space a little bit, and are offering a Grand Re-Opening Happy Hour: from 4-8 PM daily, all beer is 2-for-1.

Good looking signage! The streets even look cleaner somehow.
