Closed for Business: The Park Florist, 158 Seventh Avenue
Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 2:32PM
The Park Florist, which has provided flowers to Park Slope since 1972, closed as planned over the weekend, after a lengthy sale and liquidation. The phone line has been disconnected and even the website's down.
The florist, on Seventh between First and Garfield, was owned by the husband-and-wife duo of Simon and Doris Silberman, who also employed their children and grandchildren and shut the shop down upon deciding to retire. The small store was packed to the brim with flowers, plants, and evertything that goes with them, and they could always be counted on to assemble an expert, if pricey, arrangement for just about any occasion.
As always, it'll be interesting to see what goes into this space, which is in a prime, most likely expensive location. My guess is a fairly quick turnover.

This will be reopening soon as "Talde's Tulips"
I know Dale and he told me so himself.
Then he will open "Dale's Daffodils"
Really. In the back of Pork Slope.
*cue a bunch of lonely people talking about buying flowers at the corner store*
Best of luck to the family. It was never my place of choice, but it sounds like a well-earned retirement.
