Checking in on New York Kids Club

It's been a while since we last heard anything about the New York Kids Club, the "children enrichment center" that's coming to the space that was last home to popular music venue Southpaw, on Fifth between Sterling and St. Johns. Construction seems to be progressing steadily since the Stop Work Order was removed, and some temporary signage has been installed on the plywood laying out the many programs the center will offer. Here's a peek at the gutted interior (fans of Southpaw, shield your eyes):

The center was originally slated to open on September 12th, but now they're shooting for a January launch. Registration has already begun; those interested can call 347-706-4700.
