Bijou Jewelers Briefly Closes, Re-Opens as Glitz

Bijou, the tiny jewelry shop on Seventh Avenue between Carroll and President Streets, closed down some time ago. Last week the awning was removed, a new one replaced it, and it re-opened as Glitz, which is seemingly identical to Bijou.

A call to the shop revealed that although a new owner has taken over (hence the new name), the services offered are atill the same: custom jewelry design, appraising, repairs, gold bought and sold, and engraving.

Glitz, 109A Seventh Avenue Brooklyn NY 11215. 718-230-5524.

Yup been closed for a while and the new sign definitely did not go up the next day. Try months later. The guy who worked in Bijou was nasty, hope the new owner is better.

Cops are there now. Looks like the old owner barged in all angry saying he still owns it. Fun times.
