Is there an opening date set?
I'm sorry, was this menu designed by a grandmother who just got Microsoft Word installed on her computer? I understand the desire to be down-to-earth and quirky, but IMO this is way too kitsch. Yikes.
Agree this quirky menu is not friendly on the eyes.
Also, don't see much that is refreshing or original here.
And, what do non-meat eaters (gasp! yes, there are a few of us who don't eat pork three times a day) find?
Lots of ignorance here. This is THE best wine bar in the city hands down and personally I'm thrilled they are opening in our neighborhood. If you can't read that menu, get new glasses.

Proving again that Park Slope is populated by open-minded individuals, Harry has demonstrated tolerance and fairness by judging us "ignorant" instead of the more judgmental and politically-incorrect "retarded"
Is there a notice of a new restaurant in the neighborhood that at least one HPS reader has not labeled "the best" and asserted that they are "thrilled"?

Looks like plenty on that menu for non meat eaters. Also its a WINE BAR so maybe you could just have a glass of wine and lighten up.
I'm always happy for new businesses in the nabe, but I have to agree the the menu is hard on the eyes, which makes it confusing to read. Just using the same font, only one or two colors, and similar sizes for everything would go a long way.
Maybe part of it is distortion from the upload or my browser, but it's hard to get past a bad menu design or bad website for a restaurant (we just want the facts and want them clearly). Some of the items I can identify sound worth trying to me, though, so I'm sure we'll give it a shot.
I'm sorry, no amount of "this is the best wine bar in NYC!" kool-aid is going to encourage me to give this menu design a pass, with its many font colors, odd spacing, non-uniform sizing and awkward background placement (e.g. the Bruschetta menu being cut-through by the looseleaf red margin line).
Ideally, this is just a rendering issue of some sort or a very early draft that needs major work. If what I'm seeing above is the intended final product though, it's a complete joke unless Terroir has decided that it's theme will be third grade craft projects. In which case they might as well have done the whole thing in crayon.
Looking forward to the opening, but come on. This is just sloppy.

I think the menu looks great. Very excited to give this place a try when it opens.
It looks fantastic. These types of places are meant for a few good glasses of vino with some great meat and cheese. Walk down the street to 'Snice if you have a Tofu craving.
It's hard to take this place seriously with a menu design like that. There is no understanding of aesthetics here.
No, the menu isn't half-vegetarian, or anything of that sort, but there's certain enough options for a vegetarian to even have a choice when they walk through the door. Beats a hell of a lot of other places.

The snark towards someone even making a suggestion as to vegetarian options is laughable. Goes to show that the Slope blog commentsphere continues to be made up by people who only want Park Slope to meet their own personal needs. Don't eat meat? Too bad. Have a kid? Too bad. Drive a car? Too bad. Obnoxious as fuck, ain't it?

A possible guess: the typefaces to be used in the menu weren't use when it was printed out or saved as a file? I've seen exactly this kind of weird spacing and generic fontage on files that simply weren't in finished form.
I'd wait to see the menu in final form before damning it to the underworld. Treat is as info, not design. The food sounds good and I hope Terroir succeeds.
Visited their midtown locale recently for "Metal Mondays" night. Eh. The $1 sherry was pleasant enough, but it had a tacky suburban "fake urban" interior decor that led me and my date to eject a bit early. That, plus the lackluster vino. All hype, no geno/vinotype.
I don't know why some of you have to make such bitter comments and complain about what they have or don't have. There are millions of places in Park Slope to wine, dine, pig out, caffinate, etc. Do you need to go to every place that opens? If you don't like it, go somewhere else. It's that simple.

Good enough to be on travel and leisure's 50 best new restaurants in the U.S but not good enough for the vegetarian, font nazi's of Park Slope. Don't like the menu, then stay out. The place is going to be packed from day 1. Just like Pork Slope is, which many of these same miserable complainers here bitched about a few short weeks ago.
this place has MIX written all over it. this is park slope--style matters. reading all the comments defending the poor taste, you can smell the GOOMBAH.
Arthur Name -- that's my thinking too, even if the sizing and italicizing is still a bit weird. I guess we'll see soon.
I think they need to get their space bar fixed.
I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and guess that there were fonts missing at the time that the menu was made into a web graphic.
