A new pharmacy opened on Sunday in the space last occupied by vintage store Odd Twin, on the corner of FIfth and Degraw. Called Park Chemists, it's a nicely designed spot with a decent selection of pharmacy staples and some higher-end items.
The exterior has a classy all-black old-school look, and the design carries over to the interior, with exposed brick, chandeliers, and light woods. There's a substantial perscription department, and the merchandise covers most household items as well as some upscale hair/skincare products and gifts.
In short, it's a nicely appointed neighborhood pharmacy, and something that's been needed on this stretch of Fifth Avenue. There's certainly a market for it.

Beautifully renovated. The place looks well done and the interview with the new owners on Park Slope stoop is great. They seem to really care a great deal about the neighborhood and what they do.
An asset for all those complaining about the lack of a good pharmacy in this area.
Much better than yet another thrift store. It's no surprise those places are closing down while places like Mavi and JCrew are moving in. It definitely works with the more sophisticated families of the Slope, as does this pharmacy and the one like it on 4th Avenue. If I have to step inside another Duane Reade and deal with the illiterates behind the counter, I'll shoot myself.
