Construction Underway on Union Market, SoulCycle Coming to 342 Flatbush Avenue
Tuesday, January 26, 2025 at 8:54AM The promised revitalization of the stretch of Flatbush Avenue between Sterling Place and Grand Army Plaza hasn't quite been all it was cracked up to be back when Franny's opened in April 2013; whole buildings on that block have been vacant for years. But the impending addition of a Union Market and SoulCycle to the stretch was very welcome news when was first announced by Commerical Observer in September, and activity inside the space last week seems to indicate that work is underway.
This will be the fifth location of Union Market; there are two additional locations in Park Slope (at Sixth and Union and Seventh Avenue near 13th Street), one in Cobble Hill, and another on East Houston Street in Manhattan. It'll be opening in the existing building, and pricey spinning studio SoulCycle will be opening its third Brooklyn location on a to-be-built second floor.
The building, which was fornerly a dialysis center and has been used as a pop-up Halloween costume shop in recent years, is actually a lot larger than it appears to be from the outside; it continues all the way to St. Johns Place. No word on whether this new incarnation will resemble the site's previous occupant.

I am pretty excited about having a new Union Market up this way. The Union Market on 6th Ave is always overrun with people and super cramped. Maybe this one will be bigger and carry a wider selection...
Soul Cycle- interesting... May actually pose some competition for Crunch?
Soul cycle is so overpriced and it is not a spinning studio - it is a cycling studio. You need to be certified in spin to call it that - everything they do is contraindicatory to spin
So Peanuts is clearly a butthurt spin instructor.
Eww I hate soul cycles methods. Don't go. You whiny bloggers think your misspelled complaints matter.
I'm not a spin instructor but have taken classes with certified spin instructors. Regardless you have to be licensed and certified in spin to call it that
Union Market? You can just hop on a bike for five minutes to Union Street and get the best union market groceries anywhere in the world! This place will definitely fail.

Hopefully they keep the exterior the same.
Union Market, wonderful! Great meat (although $$) beautiful produce. Welcome to Flatbush Ave. real upgrade from the dreadful meat and produce available at Key Food and Met. They both have to upgrade their departments.
randymac88...not everyone in area is a biker just look around and see how many older people and moms with kids are in our area.
YAAAY!! Welcome Union Market!!
Can't wait for quality groceries so close by!!
I hope they do well!!
DNY Natural Land actually has a much better selection than Union Market. Lots of organic products and high quality organic produce (for those who care like myself). For meat, we are so lucky to have Fleishcers on 5th! Can't get better quality than that. I'm afraid my landlord is going to raise my rent when he gets wind of SoulCycle and Union Market coming in.
good one
thanks
fantastic four and thats a good work
