Stop Work Order at Piccola Uva Site

Construction on the Italian restaurant/ wine bar from the owner of Tutta Pasta that's been in the works in the space last occupied by Chickadee Chick, on Seventh between Garfield and Carroll, has been stopped since August 3rd thanks to a Stop Work Order.

According to the note pasted to the front window, the NYC Buildings Dept. put the kibosh on construction because "work was being performed in a dangerous or unsafe manor." If owner Martino Pisani plans to start serving up his dollar pizza slices, fried calamari, and baby lamb chops by September 14th as planned, he better get this sorted out prontamente

Stop Work Order at NY Kids Club Site (Formerly Southpaw)

The massive construction site that's become of music venue Southpaw since it closed earlier this year has been issued a Full Stop Work Order that's been in effect since May 16th.

Construction on the multi-level NY Kids Club that's set to take over the space, on Fifth between Sterling and St. Johns, began in earnest almost immediately after Southpaw's closing, but has slowed to a standstill in recent weeks. The space was gutted, but not much else has been going on in there.

The opening date for the "children enrichment center," which will feature daycare and after school programs like gym, dance, martial arts, music, drama, and cooking for kids age 2 months - 12 years, has been set for September 12th.

Stop Work Order at Seventh Avenue Pinkberry Site

Last month, word got around that Pinkberry, the mega-FroYo chain, would be opening their first-ever Brooklyn location at 161 Seventh Avenue (at Garfield), in the space that was last occupied by a wine bar. Construction has been underway ever since (the space has been completely gutted), but it's ground to a halt since a Stop Work Order was issued on Friday.

Apparently at the time of inspection they were unable to provide them with the proper plans, which resulted in the entire job site being shut down. Time to get your papers in order, folks!
