Closed for Business: Parkslope Eatery, 252 Seventh Avenue

Parkslope Eatery, the underwhelming lunch spot on Seventh Avenue between Fourth and Fifth Streets, closed unexpectedly on Thursday after being reposessed by the landlord, and the space is up for rent.
The two-year-old restaurant, which moved into the original La Bagel Delight space, never really felt like a neighborhood spot (spelling Park Slope as one word didn't help), and its food was generally generic and nothing special; I'm surprised it stayed open for as long as it did. Still, there's no reason to rejoyce when workers suddenly lose their jobs; the shelves were still stocked when I walked past on Friday so this was clearly a very sudden closure. This does open the window for something interesting to move into the space, though.

Hubby liked their chicken, other than that, never went near the place. Guess they owed their landlord a lot of money?
Park Slope desperately needs a Chipotle!!!! However across from a High School might not be a good idea :-/
Le Pain Quiden just opened on Montague St why not one on 7th Ave
Borrowing from FIPS comments would mean actually having to read FIPS. I think their filter rejects me because I'm not a broke twenty-something ambivalent as to my role as future parent who therefore decides to lash out at those who successfully did the deed. That, and FIPS sucks donkey dick.
Speaking of donkey dick, Parkslope Eatery closed!
That took long enough. Walking by this place was painful...empty...always.
I stopped in once for ribs. They didn't have any.
I was living just down the block when they opened and was excited for their promised offerings but they never came close to living up to their own hype. Where were the artisan breads? And the name...oy.
Yeah, that name... no wonder the food failed to impress. Hopefully something good comes in soon.
That entire side of the street is a bit of a catastrophe. The Greek Restaurant remains closed and the still closed Sette on the next block down gives the appearance of an economy in turmoil. Come to think of it, the streets running from 9-3 are slaves to the needs of Methodist. Only Zitos and Le Bagel Delight seems to hold appeal for our neighborhood - the rest of this neck of the woods is over-run by Methodist Hospital.
Butter Lane cupcakes, Konditori coffee, Valley Shepherd Creamery and Istanbul Park all stand out to me as great establishments from 9th to 3rd. I'm sure there are others.
I also enjoy Crespella from time to time.
You're right - those are good places. It must be the Cheeburger Cheeburger blinding my sight and the Methodist Hospital Employees taking my parking spots that made me say that.
I also always giggled at that sign "Charcoal Burgers Steaks" as if they all get equal billing.
also Lion in the Sun, Cocoa Bar, the video store, the wine store...
Room for another Five Guys.
I feel bad for the owner and the employees - I am glad that he tried his best to serve the neighborhood - It takes just a second to criticize their food but it is the huge loss for him - I wish if these comments were made /post before then they may had changed their way - Just saying I like chain or an independently owned business for me it is just a stupid thought and your ease -
"Ataka Taka Taka Inc." is an interesting business name.
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE WHWEREABOUTS OF THE FORMER OWNERS OF THE PARK SLOPE EATERY? NOT ONLY DID THE Y SUDDENLY CLOSE BUT THEY DECIDED TO RUN OFF WITH MY ESPRESSO MACHINE WE LOANED THEM. NOT A NICE THING TO DO!
